Realgar, Orpiment & Selenite

Well-preserved Realgar crystals within Selenite, with external Orpiment.

Minerals: Realgar, Orpiment, Selenite.

– Found: Peru (Palomo Mine)

In this extremely rare and unusual specimen, needles of red Realgar have formed and then been covered by translucent Selenite, with clear windows allowing viewing of the crystals within. Some Realgar needles have penetrated the Selenite and altered to orange Orpiment.

An imposing specimen of blue Fluorite with stepped appearance and striking angles.

Minerals: Cubic Stepped Fluorite (floater, no noticeable points of contact), Quartz (micro crystals).
