“Pinus Radiata” is the latin name of a type of pine tree, so-called due to the radiating patterns created by it’s pine needles.  This painting is based on a small section of an 1878 engraving, depicting a specific tree located in the gardens of Eastnor Castle in England.  The species’ status in its native regions is currently ‘endangered’.
